Beauty notebook: Bioderma BB cream, half-price Astalift & Other Stories cotton bodycare

Bioderma BB cream
I went along to a Bioderma launch this week and received this amazing Biscuiteers biscuit as a gift. It's a faithful replica of Bioderma's new BB cream (also pictured here in miniature sample form*). The cream itself has SPF 30 and an impressively fine, light, mattifying-but-moisturising formula that gives a smooth and even texture. It comes in just one shade, alas, but it's sheer enough to work for a decent range of skin tones. Its special powers include the ability to reduce redness/rosacea. (If you didn't know, rosacea is the new skincare flaw-du-jour for 2014.) French pharmacy skincare continues to go from strength to strength, and it's good to see it achieving better availability and visibility here in the UK. Out now, £14.50 at Escentual.com

Half price Astalift at Debenhams
I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw the entire Astalift range, INCLUDING Jelly Aquarysta, at 50% off at Debenhams, Oxford Street. Jelly Aquarysta is one of the PR samples I've enjoyed most, and I enjoyed learning about the science behind it at the launch, too. Repurchasing it at half price seemed the obvious choice. Also pictured is the Day Protector SPF35, which has a nice reflecty moisturisey primer texture. The whole Astalift range is 50% off online at Debenhams.com

Cotton Care clean-scented bodycare at & Other Stories
Just last week I was giving the thumbs up to & Other Stories Sugar Crush bodywash, and now they've blown me away all over again with their delicious new laundry-fresh skincare range, Cotton Care. The scent is something like Philosophy's Pure Grace, one of my enduring favourite fragrances. Each product is named after a type of textile, and the labels on the bottles are made of satiny fabric to match the theme. Typical & Other Stories design-detail-delight. These miniatures are currently on offer in the Regent St store at 75p each (normally £2-£3). Full Cotton Care range here at stories.com
