NOTD - Sunshine on a Rainy Day

I bought this yellow polish this week as a pick-me-up. It's unique in my collection. I have plenty of lemony pastel yellows, but this is my only primary, sunshine, egg-yolk yellow. It's one of Maybelline's standard Color Show line, costing a very modest £2.99 for 7ml.

It's very sheer, requiring at least 4 coats to prevent the nail line being completely obvious. (You can see it at 4, but it doesn't jump out at you.) So rather than wait multiple hours for a full-coverage yellow manicure to dry, I decided to mix it up with the wonderful Illamasqua Raindrops, providing a yellow sunshine accent nail in an otherwise showery manicure.

Fittingly, the weather today has been mostly grey and showery, with fast-moving clouds letting through random beams of sunlight. As you can see in the photos, I waited for the bright moments to take these NOTD shots.

Gratuitous shot of the beautiful, subtle metallic flakies in Raindrops.
