Approved used: Boots No. 7 Cocooning body balm

I've had this tub of fragrant moisturising goodness on the go for a few weeks now. Having recently moved through the revelatory journey from "I don't need body lotion" to "hey body lotion is good" and even "some body lotions are better than others", I now feel somewhat qualified to recommend this.

Firstly because it has a wonderfully light texture - it's as fine and slippy as a good hair conditioner, and it sinks into the skin very fast. Not at all balm-like, despite the name. It also does a great job where the actual moisturising is concerned, and is well-named because it does actually "cocoon" the skin in a lasting layer of softness. (OK it's probably some crafty combo of oil and silicones, but let's just say "softness", because it's nicer.) It gives you the lightness you want for easy, enjoyable application, paired with the moisturising heft of a greasier, heavier balm or lotion.

Finally, it smells delicious. Somewhere between summer holidays/suntan lotion and a vague floral fruitiness. If you miss summer (I don't) and your skin is suffering the drying effects of cold weather and central heating, give this a bash. It's also hypoallergenic.

It costs £10 for 180ml, only at Boots, where it's currently part of a 3 for 2 offer on No 7
