Beauty notebook: Penhaligon's, Nails Inc and Deborah Lippmann

Beauty finds around London this week...

House of Fraser beauty hall, Oxford Street:
The wonderful Vaara from Penhaligon's is promoted on a display in the fragrance department. There is a stack of these scented handkerchiefs for customers to pick up. They're just printed sheets of cotton, but the scent has lingered on the one I picked up for several days. It's a lovely thing to have in my coat pocket. If I weren't already sold on Vaara, this would definitely have me lemming it.

Boots, King Street, Hammersmith:
Pick up one of two bright red Nails Inc polishes free when you buy a tube of Colgate MaxWhite One toothpaste. When it comes to non-beauty GWP collaborations, Nails Inc leave other brands in the dust. Provided they continue to do special editions rather than giving away polishes from their main line, it doesn't seem too bad a strategy. I like the fact that there are two variants of the same red, one matte and one metallic.

TK Maxx, King Street, Hammersmith:
Deborah Lippmann polishes. It's a little sad to see these gorgeous thoroughbred polishes thrown together in a plastic sealy bag, but £14.99 for three is an undeniable steal, as £15 is the standard price for a single bottle. Sadly none of the shades are Lippmann's trademark glitters, but there are a few knocking around in different TK Maxx branches. L-R Dark Side of the Moon, Whatever Lola Wants, Through the Fire.
